Hello everyone! Let’s talk about 6.1. The big name drawing all the attention is Nefer, whose release is expected then.
Now, before diving into who Nefer is, what she’s capable of, and why she’s building so much hype, it’s worth stressing that none of this is officially confirmed. Hoyoverse hasn’t announced her. Everything here comes from reliable leakers with proven accuracy, such as HomDGCat and Team Mew. But leaks are never final — so keep that in mind.
Nefer hails from Sumeru, though she isn’t being introduced in a Sumeru-focused patch. Instead, she’ll appear during the Nod Krai storyline in 6.1. This isn’t unusual — characters like Collei and Mona have shown up in regions outside their homeland when the plot required it. Her element is Dendro, indicating a potential dendro meta, it has been abandoned by hoyo for a while now.
A major detail from recent leaks via Mero is that she wields a catalyst. This completely changes her expected playstyle. Early guesses leaned toward her being a bow user. If Nefer is designed as an on-field DPS, she’d deliver pure Dendro damage at all times, enabling strong synergy with Elemental Mastery builds, Dendro damage goblets, and reaction-focused artifact sets. Currently, Baizhu is the only five-star Dendro catalyst, and he’s a healer — so Nefer would be the first true Dendro DPS catalyst, filling an entirely new niche.
One area with a much stronger track record is the Archon rerun pattern. Since Sumeru, the .0 patch of each new region has brought back an Archon, followed in subsequent updates by the others. Sumeru’s 3.0 had Zhongli, Fontaine’s 4.0 also had Zhongli, and the following patches rolled out Venti, Raiden Shogun, and Nahida in sequence. If 6.0 opens with a Nahida rerun, as current leaks suggest, then Furina in 6.1 becomes a very safe bet.
Assuming Hoyoverse keeps its usual 42-day cycle, 6.0 should land on September 10, 2025, with 6.1 following on October 22. That gives players all of 6.0’s events, commissions, and Abyss resets to save up primogems before Nefer’s banner. It’s also worth noting that 6.0 will feature the Sumeru Chronicled Wish banner for older characters, which will end before 6.1 begins. If you’ve been waiting for picks like Cyno, Alhaitham, or Nahida, you may have to choose between them and Nefer.
Right now, she’s shaping up as a Sumeru Dendro catalyst user built for sustained on-field damage. The rest of the banner lineup is still too uncertain to call, but the overall picture is becoming clearer. Whether you’re saving for her debut or aiming for Furina constellations, the next few patches will be full of tough pull decisions. Once 6.0 goes live and the 6.1 beta begins, concrete leaks will come out, and I’ll be breaking them down in detail.
